When to get it checked
Never test a blade with your fingers. Disconnect the spark plug lead on a petrol mower or isolate the battery before any inspection, and use proper protective equipment. If you are not sure how to make the machine safe, leave the work to a mechanic.
Common signs to mention
- Ragged or frayed grass tips after mowing
- A new vibration or rattling from the deck
- Blade edge visibly nicked or worn
- A seasonal clean and maintenance check is due
What to have handy
Make and model if visible, a short description of the fault, and when it last ran normally. If the machine is unsafe to operate, stop using it and call before transporting it.
Not sure which service fits? Call and describe the machine. We can point you to the right repair conversation.
